Frequently Asked Questions

  • How is the gas cost calculated?

Imperial: gallons used = miles ÷ MPG, then × fuel price. Metric: litres used = (km ÷ 100) × L/100km, then × price per litre.

  • How is the EV cost calculated?

kWh used = (distance ÷ 100) × kWh per 100 distance-units, then × price per kWh. The same formula works in both unit systems because efficiency and distance share the same length unit.

  • Does this include charging losses or fast-charger pricing?

Charging losses (~10% AC, ~5% DC) and public-fast-charger premiums are not modeled separately — bake them into your kWh price or efficiency input. Manufacturer EPA / WLTP figures usually already include AC charging loss.

  • Where does the data go? Are you tracking my mileage?

Nowhere. Every calculation runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, logged, or shared.
