Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much waste should I plan for?

    10% on simple rectangular rooms; 15–20% on diagonal layouts or rooms with many cuts; up to 25% with patterned tile that needs alignment.

  • Does the tool count grout?

    No — the tile-area math assumes no grout gap. With ⅛–¼" / 3–6 mm grout joints, the difference is < 5% on standard tiles. Add it to your waste buffer if you want exact buying.

  • Imperial vs metric mode?

    Imperial uses ft for the room and inches for the tile (12 × 12 in). Metric uses m for the room and cm for the tile (30 × 30 cm).

  • Is anything stored?

    No. Calculations run in your browser only.
